Mario Orlandi


Regional Vice President, South Europe, Silica

Mario Orlandi was appointed Regional Vice President, South Europe, Silica in May 2004. Responsible for growing the Silica business in this region, Mario reports directly to Miguel Fernandez, President of Silica.

Prior to this appointment, Mario held the position of European Distribution Sales Director at Motorola, now Freescale Semiconductor, for five years. He held various senior sales and management positions during his 17-year stay with Motorola, starting out as a Field Sales Engineer and progressing through the ranks to the position of Sales Director.      

A 19-year veteran of the electronics industry, Mario began his career with SGS Thomson, now STMicroelectronics, as a quality engineer.

Mario graduated with an Electrical degree from the G. Marconi Institute, Milan in 1982. He is married with three sons and resides in Italy.
