Tim Willies


Chief Financial Officer, Silica

Tim Willies was appointed Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in June 2001.

Prior to his current appointment, Tim held the position of Vice President, Finance, Avnet Electronics Marketing EMEA from October 1998. Tim joined Avnet EM EMEA in November 1993 as Financial Accountant and was promoted to Director of Finance, Avnet EM Asia in January, 1996. During his time in this role, he spent a year working in Hong Kong and was the only Avnet expatriate working full-time in the Asia Pacific region. In February 1998, he was appointed Director of Finance, Avnet EM Europe.

Before joining Avnet EM, EMEA, Tim also worked as a Controller for Henkel KgaA from December 1990 to November 1993. Prior to this, he was a Management Accountant for Haymarket Publishing from June 1989.

Tim (36) graduated with a B.A. (Hons) degree in Accounting from Portsmouth Polytechnic in 1988. He continued his academic studies part-time and qualified as a Chartered Management Accountant in 1991.
