Vice President Assets Group and Chief Operating Officer, Silica

Vincent Cellard was appointed Director for the Silica Assets Group in June 2001. Responsible for purchasing management, Vincent reports directly to Miguel Fernandez, President, Silica. Vincent, 34, is also a member of the Avnet EMEA IT Steering Committee and the Global Material Management Board.

Prior to this appointment, Vincent worked for Avnet Electronics Marketing as Director of Assets from July 2000 having previously held the role of Purchasing Director of non-commodity semiconductors for 6 months.

Before this, he worked as a European Purchasing Manager for Sonepar Electronique Internationale (SEI) for 3 years having joined Sonepar Electronique France in 1995 as Purchasing Director. During his 5 years with SEI, Vincent was responsible for purchasing all component products for Sonepar Electronique France as well as the consolidated purchasing of commodity products for SEI Europe.

Vincent began his professional career as Purchasing Manager with Latine Europe, a broker firm, in 1990. After 2 years with this company, he joined Schlumberger Cards and Systems where he remained until 1995.

Vincent graduated with a Masters degree in Business Administration from the University of Texas, Austin in 1989. He obtained his business degree (Diplome d'Etudes Superieures de Commerce et d'Administration Financiere) from the Grenoble Business School in 1988. Vincent resides in France with his wife and three children.
