FireCracker Development and Reference Design Platform

The FireCracker Platform for audio/video and communications applications stands for a unique hybrid between a development board and a reference design.

It is available with Analog Devices' popular Blackfin processor ADSP-BF537 as well as the latest ADSP-BF527. With power consumption as low as 0.16 mW/MHz and performance up to 600 MHz, applications can now add greater signal processing performance without sacrificing battery life.

Silica's FireCracker Platform is designed with instustry standard interfaces and peripherals in order to streamline the development process by providing fully verified functional modules and at the same time eliminating the need to perform detailed design of common embedded subsystems.

The Kit contains the FireCracker Evaluation Board with a BF537E Core Module from Bluetechnix. For evaluation purposes the evaluation software is preflashed at the Core Module. Different demonstration applications can be chosen. Reprogramming of software updates is either possible for the Core Module or the FPGA.
