ADI Pmod Solutions for the Spartan-6 LX9 MicroBoard
Avnet has partnered with Analog Devices to offer several unique reference designs for the Spartan®-6 LX9 MicroBoard. These designs not only show how easy it is to add the small Pmod™ expansion modules to the MicroBoard, but also provide excellent code examples enabling quicker prototyping and testing of analog interfaces.
Reference Designs
DAC-to-ADC Loopback Reference Design
The DAC-to-ADC loopback design connects an 8-bit DAC Pmod and a 12-bit ADC Pmod to the LX9 MicroBoard, implementing a simple waveform generator and data acquisition system via an external loopback cable. The Xilinx ChipScope™ tool is used to capture the ADC output and display an analog waveform representation of the converted input.
Accelerometer Reference Design
The accelerometer design connects a 3-axis accelerometer Pmod module to the LX9 MicroBoard, implementing sensing for both static and dynamic acceleration. This solution is ideal for tilt and motion sensing applications, where the FPGA can read the digital sensor data via a SPI or I2C interface. The MicroBlaze™- based reference design initializes the accelerometer and then continuously reads the sensor data and passes it to PC through a UART interface.
