Forté™ N25Q - Serial Flash with Multiple I/O

Forté™ N25Q - Serial Flash with Multiple I/O

NUM N25Q iconThe Numonyx Forté N25Q is the industry’s first 65nm lithography Multiple I/O serial flash family, providing the most advanced performances available today in the market: with clock speed per line at up to 108 MHz it allows a significant improvement in read and write speeds.

It is additionally the first Serial Flash family in the market to offer flexible device configurability, also extended to XiP Mode, stored on non volatile register. With the introduction of the Non Volatile Configuration Register, the memory can be programmed to work in execute-in-place, with clear advantages like RAM as well as space saving and cost optimization. This also allows for reduced access time by saving instruction clock cycles, and improves security by using the OTP area. The memory can be write-protected by software using a mix of volatile and non-volatile protection features, depending on application needs.

The brand new serial flash lineup also supports all SPI protocols (Dual, Quad, on top of extended SPI) on the same device, allowing Designers the ability to choose depending on specific application requirements.

Backward compatible with M25P (Single SPI) and M25PX (Dual SPI) families, it supports environmental conditions with temperature ratings from -40 to +85 °C; endurance that delivers more than 100,000 erase/program cycles per sector and more than 20 years of data retention. Supply ranges include 1.8 V as well as 3 V power supply and a multiple choice of packages is offered: MLP8 (6x8mm); SO16 300 mils width; BGA24 (6x8mm).

This product family is ideal for applications like PC and Peripherals, Consumer Electronics and Communication
