SBC-i.MX51 - Small and Powerful Single-Board Computer

SBC-i MX51 iconBluetechnix, a 3rd Party Developer from Freescale and embedded systems specialist is proud to launch its new Single-Board Computer based on Freescale’s i.MX51 multimedia processor.

The SBC-i.MX51 board is characterized by high-performance multimedia functions (video en-/decoding of various formats like MPEG-4, H.263 and H.264), small size (120x120mm) and low power consumption. Its core - the i.MX51 processor - is especially designed for netbook-like applications and is clocked at 800MHz. The Single-Board Computer integrates 2GByte NAND Flash and 512MByte DDR2-800 SDRAM. Moreover, it is optimized for industrial applications, automation & control systems, multimedia consumer devices as well as being used as a Rapid Development Kit. The SBC-i.MX51 supports following interfaces: LCD, Camera, CVBS, SDHC-Card, Audio, LEDs, 4xUSB Host, 1xUSB-OTG, 3xUART, Keypad, I2C, SPI, 1-Wire, PWM, JTAG, on-board Ethernet. The HDMI video output supports resolutions up to 1280 x 768 pixels. Its main power supply voltage range lies between 6 to 24V. Two expansion connectors allow for maximum connectivity including an adapter to interface to TFT or LVDS displays and a camera, and another adapter featuring wireless connections like GSM/GPRS, GPS, and Bluetooth.

The SBC-i.MX51 comes with an Angstrom Embedded Linux distribution built with OpenEmbedded. This is a freely available board support package (BSP) based on the Linux 2.6.31 kernel. It features full support for audio, video, and the GPU hardware. The huge package collection in OpenEmbedded and the SBC combine a package that is ready for your own application development. Three default images are available where you can immediately start from: A console image with only minimal components, a QT Embedded Image including the QT Demo Application running after booting and a GNOME based image which provides desktop-like features.
