The Xilinx Virtex-5 FXT Mini-Module Plus is the ultimate programmable system. The Virtex-5 FXT Mini-Module Plus is offered as a development kit, with a companion baseboard, power supply, software, and reference designs. The Mini-Module Plus is based on the Virtex-5 FX30T or FX70T FPGA from Xilinx, and includes DDR2 memory, Flash memory, 10/100/1000 Ethernet PHY, USB 2.0 PHY, system clock, eight MGTs and 132 user I/O. The I/O can be configured as single-ended signals as well as differential LVDS pairs.

The baseboard provides the necessary power, user switches, LEDs, RS-232 port, USB - RS-232 port, PCIe x8 connector, two CX4 connectors, two EXP half slots, and System ACE™ Module connector. The Mini-Module Plus baseboard supports two Mini-Module Plus slots, the MGTs of the first slot are connected to the CX4 connectors while the MGTs of the second slot are connected to the PCIe x8 edge connector. The user has the option of using both or either Mini-Module Plus slot in an application. A JTAG compatible port is available on the baseboard to download configuration data to the FPGA directly or to program the BPI Flash with the FPGA configuration file.
