Strong2 TFT Displays for Use in Extreme Conditions

 

Sharp has a broadline of TFT displays specially designed for industrial applications. The Strong2 Technology improves the performance and resistance of the existing range. Currently there are two panels available:

 

The LQ104V1DG61, a 10.4 inch VGA Display and the LQ121S1DG61 a 12.1 inch Display with SVGA resolution.

 

Benefits of the Strong2 Displays:

Wide temperature range, -30° to +80°C due to:

  • Adoption of liquid crystal material for high temperature
  • Optimization of heat radiation processing
  • Optimization of light guide & plate shape
  • Optimization of installation structure (rubber-holder light guide plate)
  • Improved Polarizer & RGB filters

High brightness now up to 450 Cd/m2 due to:

  • Adoption of high transmittance ratio panel, 10% UP
  • Adoption of high luminance backlight, 10% UP
  • Adoption of high efficiency reflector
  • Adoption of high luminance lamp / optimized coating / efficiency
  • Optimization of light guide plate
  • Improved transmission coefficient of glass substrate

Resistance to vibration up to 2G, due to:

  • Optimization of modular structure, strengthening of structure
  • Redesigned housing to absorb jolts & vibrations
  • Insulation material used for protection of glass
  • Optimization of backlight-case shape / better protection of CCFT
  • Change of PWB cover material (PET ? SUS)
  • Addition of installation hole to fix I/F connector

    Vibrations : Up to 19,6 m/s² (on/off)
    Jolts : Acceleration of up to 490 m/s²
