Readers ICs
Silica offers a wide selection of chips to integrate RFID capabilities in your design. These chips are called 'readers' but actually they are all fully able to write RFID Tags.
Readers are divided into three main categories based on their frequency: LF (Low Frequency), HF (High Frequency) and UHF (Ultra-High Frequency). There is no 'multi-frequency' chip, but the option exists to integrate chips for different frequencies within the same design. But chips exist that do support multiple protocols with the same frequency, for example readers operating at 13.56 MHz supporting simultaneously ISO 14443a, ISO 14443b and ISO 15693.
